Bitcoin is winning the race, perhaps which seems to be truer from the trends we observed this week. Since May, this is the first time Bitcoin crossed $48,000 and it only seems to be going upwards. Another coin that made news this week is none other than Cardano ADA which was $1.36 at the start of this month and now $2.6. Crazy, right?

Hacker’s steal $97 million from a Japan crypto exchange
Liquid, which is a Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange unfortunately became another victim of the rising hacks that seem to be targeting crypto exchanges. This is another major breach that occurred just within a week’s gap of the previous one. Out of the stolen funds, $45 million worth of funds were in Ethereum tokens while the remaining were in different altcoins. Japanese authorities are examining the heist however it’s early too say how much will be recovered.

BlackRock has almost $400 million invested in Bitcoin Mining stocks
This week we observed some more great news surrounding Bitcoin. BlackRock which is the world’s largest asset manager has about $400 million invested in different Bitcoin mining firms that stretch all across the US. The news was made public by the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s filings. Mining is a very important part of keeping Bitcoin operational and this is indeed great news.

Binance tightens money-laundering checks as pressure mounts
Breaking the news on Wednesday, Binance hires one of the top former US treasury criminal investigator as its global money laundering officer, thus pointing towards increased policies and measures to curb illicit activities. In the past few weeks, we observed UK and US both putting immense pressure on Binance to ensure its platform is not used by the “wrong hands”. In its first move, it has tightened background checks on its users with immediate effect.

Crypto is now driving half of Robinhood’s revenues
As it seems, users of Robinhood are loving cryptocurrencies as Robinhood released its report last week which showed a major chunk about 52% of its revenue comes from crypto trading. As stated by its CFP “Robinhood is now clearly on the map of crypto trading” which of course seems to be true.
Top NBA Pick paid in Bitcoin for BlockFi sponsorship deal
Cade Cunningham, who is one of the top NBA drafts signed a sponsorship deal with a famous crypto firm known as BlockFi, and guess how the company decided to pay the signing bonus? Yes, in Bitcoins. BlockFi said it will keep on doing the same with its upcoming sponsors. Cunningham on the other hand said he simply loved being paid in the “future of the money”.

A lot of fans were taken by shock and surprise when their 32-year-old top Footballer left Barcelona Football Club which was the reason for his success. Although Messi has joined another football club he’s also making an appearance on NFTs. Known as “Messiverse” he’s all up to celebrate some of his career’s highlights on the NFT led crypto asset.
