Weekly Review
Last week’s market performance

Overall, last week markets remained stable. There weren’t many highs and lows. Instead, Bitcoin’s price stayed between $61,000 to $63,000. On the other hand, there’s another “meme” coin out in the market that has seen a whopping 4000% increase in October 2021 and it’s named after none other the crypto king aka Elon Musk. Dogelon Mars (ELON) is the new meme coin that has gained lots of attraction the past week.

Local mayors in the US are going all for Bitcoin

To our surprise, no one thought this day would come, or at least this soon. Regardless, last week Miami’s Mayor tweeted he will be accepting his next paycheck 100% in bitcoin, only to be receiving a reply from the Mayor-elect of New York City (NYC) saying he will also be accepting his next three months’ salary in Bitcoin. Interestingly, the rather so friendly war did not end here, and on Friday, Tampa Bay, Florida’s Mayor said she’s going to be accepting her next paycheck in Bitcoin.

Therefore, in just 1-week, three Mayors of the US are accepting their paychecks in Bitcoin. How cool is that?

Bank of America’s COO thinks Bitcoin is just an “asset” rather have any practical use

While talking at a conference with the CEO of Chainalysis, the COO Tom Montang of Bank of America didn’t have many positive things to say about bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and stablecoins. Unfortunately, his statement is quite similar to what JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs had to say, and that’s cryptocurrencies will serve as an “Asset” than have practical use in the future. Interestingly enough, just this July, Bank of America dedicated an entire “research team” to study cryptocurrencies.

Reddit soon to turn your Karma points into an ERC-20 token

Yes, last week, Reddit announced it would soon tokenize your Karma points into an ERC-20 token that it believes will help the platform’s content creators. In a series of Tweets, a senior engineer from Reddit tweeted about his plans for the social media site; and they want a platform that supports not just its creators but is somewhat a part of the growing blockchain trend. Will this help Reddit at attracting new users and content? Perhaps time will tell, but for now, most users are excited to see how it turns out!

Kraken and Coinbase: all set to list Shiba Inu (SHIB)

Last week the Shiba army won, once again! Kraken tweeted asking their followers to list SHIB and said: if we receive more than 2,000 likes – we will list the coin. Well, the Shiba Army did not come slow, and the tweet received over 78,000+ likes!

On the other hand, Coinbase lists SHIB on its platform for buying, selling, and trading. However, the SHIB is only available for NYC residents, but that’s expected to grow.

US Senator Ted Cruz wants all utilities in the Capitol to be paid by Bitcoin

Known as the “accept resolution”, US Senator Ted Cruz wants all the restaurants, vending machines, and gift shops to accept payments in Bitcoin. He believes this will have a far more significant “ripple” effect at making Bitcoin more practical and used as a form of the day-to-day payment system.

Unfortunately, so far, there isn’t much luck at the Congress for Senator Ted Cruz.

The CEO of one of the world’s most popular game development companies seems to have high hopes for the future of gaming which involves NFTs and play-to-earn models.
